Wisdom Weaving

Wisdom Weaving is a site-specific installation that asks audiences: What are the wisest words you have ever heard, read or said?

The work invites participants to reflect on the words, ideas and insights that have shaped their understanding of life and contributed to their sense of meaning. By asking audiences to identify and share what they consider to be ‘wise’, Wisdom Weaving explores the deeply personal and relational ways in which wisdom is encountered, remembered and passed between people.

The work draws on Jess’s longstanding interest in how people make meaning for themselves, particularly the stories, words, experiences and encounters through which we construct an understanding of who we are and how we might live.

Wisdom Weaving was featured at the Hillview Sculpture Biennial (2018), Sculptures at Killalea (2018), and as part of Old Favourites at Retford Park in Bowral (2019).
